For this rising brand, named Beauty Innovator of the Year by Refinery29 and winner of Best in Beauty Awards by Instyle, Allure and PopSugar, Stephen Gould provided the missing partnership of on-brand packaging design and at-scale logistics expertise.

The Challenge

Founded and created by three dynamic and successful Black women, Brown Girl Jane is a modern collective of fine fragrances powered by clinically-researched mood enhancement using ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients. Its lean, creative team only lacked an experienced packaging partner to rely on for knowledge and network relationships. The founders came to us given one of their largest retail distributors advised them to promote sales by elevating their packaging experience and on-the-shelf presence.

The Solution

Our team listened and designed viable concepts to align with Brown Girl Jane’s company culture and brand. We developed both The Wanderlust Collection and Discovery Set packaging to separately house rounded fragrance bottles and slim-profile sampler vials. A secure but easily releasable fit was key for the various products these collection sets needed to house. Our rapid prototyping ability enabled us to ensure that refinements throughout the process met all of our expectations and high standards.

We incorporated details such as debossed, foil type and a satin ribbon-pull to create an eye-catching as well as luxurious unboxing experience for the consumer. Achieving subtle colors and matching the product to the finished color of the packaging exemplifies our commitment to high quality from concept to delivery.

The Result

We were able to significantly reduce Brown Girl Jane’s production costs compared to the packaging they had before engaging our team. As the company reinvests those funds into their business to meet the needs of their customers, our team and infrastructure are dependably in place to support our client’s expanding needs.
