Led by Kerry Blakney and Summer Gossett from our Fremont, California office, our team embarked on an exciting project in collaboration with a prominent telecommunications company. We were tasked with creating sustainable, user-friendly packaging that balanced aesthetic appeal with functional efficiency. Our journey began with a design agency, where we took their vision and transformed it into a manufacturable product, all while adhering to sustainability standards.
Kerry and Summer worked meticulously to ensure the packaging was entirely recyclable, opting for paper-based materials and soy-based inks instead of foam. One of the critical challenges was managing design modifications during production, which required quick pivots to implement cost-effective solutions. For instance, they reduced shipping costs by eliminating unnecessary components and printing directly on the packaging to streamline assembly. In addition to overcoming logistical challenges, such as freight delays and custom clearance issues, the team remained committed to on-time delivery by utilizing creative transportation methods, including airfreighting essential components when necessary.
