Our collaboration with Performix began during their early startup days and has blossomed into a steadfast partnership. Today, we deliver comprehensive solutions for their extensive product range.

The Challenge

Stephen Gould inherited the project from the client’s previous partners, and were tasked with general packaging ­enhancements. Initially, the pill bottle’s packaging was labor-intensive and failed to guarantee product security during transport. The former box also encountered problems with ink rubbing off the soft-touch material. Stephen Gould successfully streamlined the packaging by designing a more efficient tray for the pill bottle and identifying a higher-quality supplier for the box which alleviated the soft-touch material from rubbing off.

As our partnership evolved and our scope of work expanded, we undertook many challenges to include almost every substrate.  From custom bottles and caps, paperboard folding cartons and rigid set boxes, and full corrugated Costco pallet displays, to custom tins and jars for their powder lines, flexible pouches and sachets, and even blister packs.  Known for their approach to be disruptive on the shelf in a very difficult category, we became the go-to partner for every new and innovative launch.

The Solution

Our proactive and dedicated approach to overcoming numerous design and manufacturing challenges significantly bolstered trust with our clients. The team engaged in the project demonstrated exceptional commitment, accompanying the Performix creative director to every press check. This ensured top-notch product quality and maintained face-to-face interactions. These close interactions enabled us to receive real-time feedback, promptly address issues as they arose, and identify opportunities for further improvement. As a result, our involvement with Performix expanded across numerous touchpoints.

The Result

Our deeply engaged partnership with Performix has enabled us to oversee every substrate and product, ensuring meticulous manufacturing standards. Beyond solving engineering challenges in packaging, we eventually installed a dedicated clean room and pill filling line to become a major turnkey partner.  The SG team grew to a team of 5 to coordinate the assembly of diverse components within a complex operational framework to fill their bulk pills into a shelf-ready final product.
